KIDS MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES
JIU JITSU
Promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person. JIU JITSU training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self-defense. Sparring (commonly referred to as "rolling") and live drilling play a major role in our training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress and ascension through our ranking system.
KICKBOXING
Our Kids Kickboxing program offers the chance for your young child to develop: self esteem, self-discipline, confidence, physical fitness and coordination. Our goals are to develop our students into not only well rounded martial artists but also develop their character and work ethic. Through training students will learn respect for others and for themselves, hard work and discipline. They will also learn how to work as a team with other students as well as setting goals and achieving them. The first level begins with basic punching, kicking, and wrestling techniques. Testing is required for advancement to assure that proper training skills are learned with consistent attendance. Light contact is required to apply proper technique and application. As students advance, training and sparring is geared toward competition. (Uniform and gear is required. Safety comes first!)
MIXED MARTIAL ARTS
Geared towards knowledge, technique, and offensive & defensive skills. This is the introductory part of fighting in competition, where students develop confidence and self-defense abilities. Instruction focuses on interactive contact training, parrying drills, boxing, takedown drills, wrestling, grappling, and Muay Thai free-form sparring. Students wishing to join must first pass a conditioning test and tryouts in order to begin.
BOXING
No kicks here. Covered are basic combinations using footwork, jab, cross, hook, uppercuts, slips and dips; which are the basic skills taught to kids who want to train like a pro and develop skills like one! Your kids will learn all the offensive and defensive fundamentals. Head gear and Boxing gloves are required for this class
